| The
Asian Education Index is a division of the Time Taylor International Corporation.
Unlike
Jung (2004) who states, "Judiciously counting the number of entries in Language
Teaching, it is maintained, constitutes a valid and reliable shortcut to establishing
journal quality..." we feel there are significantly improved ways to address
the fundamental issues unique to the second millennium and the changes in publishing
and journal usage, and also we need to take into account the plethora of ancillary
issues that go to making a journal of both high academic standard, and a valuable
resource to the profession it serves. Bernstein & de Keijzer (2005) add, "We
are plunging headlong into a new millennium that is qualitatively different from
the two millennia prior." The Internet with it's unregulated anonymity that
masks that which should be known demands this Index apply the highest ethical
standards in Indexing - criteria include naming those who do the indexing and
allowing observers to know the nature of the judges.
Time
Taylor International Ltd., is dedicated to providing the highest quality Internet
content and professional development materials to academics, universities, researchers,
teachers and students across the globe.
The mission of the Time-Taylor
organization is to create premier, standards-based Internet content, to provide
quality journals to every academic, teacher, researcher and student across the
globe in named disciplines, and to develop and maintain on-line education programs
through professional advisors and professional editorial staff, so they may enrich
teaching skills and improve global student achievement for generations to come.
Impact Factors.
From mid 2008 Impact factors will be assigned. In conjunction with the 120 editorial board group of the Asian EFL Journal, we have devised a fairer, newer, and unique assessment of journals. Unlike ISI who mask their criteria, AEI IPs take into account the impact of the multitude of Internet based factors, and will clearly be seen by journal editors and readers alike.
